Am I Living too Fast?

James Baldwin once said: "The paradox of education is precisely this - that as one begins to become conscious one begins to examine the society in which he is being educated." Mr. Baldwin was right. I find myself examining my society and recommending changes that need to be done by our so-called leaders. I'm very observant.

Through my observations, I've also started realizing that I may be living too fast .I guess life expects us to be perfectly good at the things they don't teach in school. Life wants you to be fully equipped with skills your professor can't help you acquire.

Should I "live slow"

Well, I believe that the pace at which I'm living doesn't matter as long as I'm building myself without causing conflicts with society. I've always thought about slowing down but I find myself consumed by the fast life. I hope I find an accurate speedometer for my car and stop relying on other people's speedometers.

What Family Really Means

Are we supposed to be establishing and maintaining families at every stage of life we pass? It's general knowledge that family goes beyond DNA. It's those things that bring us together and the way we go through each of our lives together holding each other's hand through the ride hoping for nothing but the best.

My definition of the word "family" has really changed over the years based on my day-to-day encounters. I've met people who have impacted a lot of things in me. I've even considered them family regardless of our biology.

I always like to belong somewhere. You may be part of my family if you help me feel/learn/experience positive things that I've never felt/learnt/experienced before. To me, establishing bonds with certain people is something we should all be doing in our life times.

I think my parents should have let the good doctor administer doses of Cannabis to me when I was younger. I feel like I'd be past Steve Jobs' status if they followed my wish. My goal isn't to disrespect Steve Jobs here. I'm just using him as a reference.
