Consume (“Chakula ya Soul”)

Music soothes the soul. It gives one a whole new beginning after a major drawback in life. Constantly listening to music ensures that we live a stress-free life.
In Kenya, we speak Swahili. ‘Chakula’ is the Swahili word for ‘Food’. ‘Chakula ya soul’ literally means food for the soul. We consume this food. The rhythms accompanied by amazing vocals are truly beautiful. The dynamic nature of artists, who create them, makes us listen to them more. Every one of them was gifted differently thus the diversity in concentration of fans who listen to them.
Music is what Psychopaths need, to calm them down. The excessive medication mental patients are given isn’t of help. Some of them are left to live in solitude; away from
other humans; far away from the musical world. This worsens their conditions that some even commit suicide.
Growing children need music. Some even discover their talents while still young through music. Listening to a wide variety also shapes their creativity. It installs in them a multidimensional personality. With this, they are able to dissect what they see and hear into rational decisions.
I’m glad because the percentage of the youth who listen to music is encouraging. Their curious nature makes them adapt to the rapid changes in the music industry. Sincerely speaking, most of the successful recording artists of this century started music at a tender age. Their ability to learn quickly opened doors for them. For instance, Hip hop is dominated by young people. Young minds have great ideas necessary in the creation of good music.
Last but not least, music is also meant for the aging population. It doesn’t discriminate age. You will find the old listening to tracks recorded many years ago because this reminds them of how far they’ve come from. It brings out the memories back then; how morals determined their lives. Music is like a drug. It is also known as a Universal Drug.
